Luise and Seb got hitched in an intimate ceremony in the Brydon Room, Chelsea Old Town Hall, watched over by family, close friends and their adorable 14-month-old, Theo. As the two families already knew each other well, everyone was incredibly warm, relaxed and open. It was like a friendly reunion, and lots of fun.
After the ceremony, there was confetti on the famous town hall steps, then bubbly among the Kings Road passersby, before a Routemaster bus carried us to Quo Vadis in Soho. Little Theo went home with his babysitter and Luise, Seb and I went off to shoot portraits around the bustling Soho streets.
Back at Quo Vadis, the early summer sunshine streamed into the party room during the wedding toasts and speeches, and I left the jolly crowd as they sat down for dinner.
I often photograph couples who want to do their wedding a little bit differently from the norm. Sometimes this means crazy themes or destination packages, and sometimes it means a low-key or intimate affair. This was one of those shorter, intimate weddings, which started with the ceremony and ended with dinner. It was a real pleasure to be a part of it and record the first few festive hours of Seb & Luise’s married life together.
