Fun Hackney wedding | Kitty + Duncan

Kitty & Duncan wanted a proper Hackney wedding. Not only was it a place close to their hearts, but they were moving back to Oz, where Kitty grew up. This was more than a wedding - it was a party for their friends and loved ones, and saying a goodbye to London in style.

The vibe they had planned for the day was “fun”, “a little bit whimsical” and “a little bit disco”, and they wanted relaxed photos against the East London backdrop.

Kitty got ready at home with her mum and best mate, sharing a glass of bubbly before making their way to Hackney Town Hall. After a gorge ceremony in the wood-panelled Committee Rooms and a few photos on the Town Hall steps, a Routemaster bus transported the party over to The Hackney - one of my favourite local venues.

…then the skies opened (because this was summer 2024)! Luckily, the Hackney hads a variety of indoor spaces and a covered outdoor area, so is more than up to the job of accommodating a rained-out wedding day.

Beautifully decked out with pastel and pink flowers and its famous greenery and disco balls, it was the perfect reception venue for these guys, and the couple partied in style with a big crowd of loved ones.

As an East London wedding photographer and long-time Hackney local, I loved being part of this awesome Hackney wedding. The biggest of congratulations, Kitty & Duncan and the best of luck down under.
