It was such a massive honour when Jay asked me to be the photographer for her Hoxton Hotel wedding to Chris-Ann. I'd shot two previous weddings for her family and it’s a huge a compliment to be asked back.

On our first consultation call, Jay told me that she’d wanted to marry Chis-Ann since they first met.

They said that they cherished some photos that I’d taken of them. They wanted more like that - relaxed moments of intimacy, subtle glances, moments of laughter… those in-between moments that we’re hardly aware of, but that speak volumes when we see them in a photograph.

The day began with Jay and Chris-Ann getting ready together in their room at the Hoxton Hotel, Southwark. We then hopped into an awesomely vintage Beauford Convertible classic car, whisking us off to Southwark Registry Office, where Jay’s dad Roy walked the two brides down the aisle together.

After the ceremony, we hopped back into the Beauford, and back to the Hoxton for a wedding portrait session. This was followed by drinks, games and an intimate wedding breakfast. It was the speeches that got me. They were informal - anyone was able to stand and say some words, a lovely way to do it. A beautiful outpouring of warmth and appreciation from the newlywed’s families and friends. I swear, someone was cutting onions in there.

Then after a cheeky shot of tequila, it was time for more games, cake and some epic dancing. A fabulous day - difficult to leave! The perfect celebration for this lovely pair.
